Funding for free menstrual products
Since November 2021, the department has been engaging with Indigenous partners in the North and the territorial and provincial governments to identify the partners that are best placed to receive funding and provide free menstrual products in Northern schools.
Funding to Indigenous partners and territorial governments in Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Inuit Nunangat started in March 2022 and the roll-out of this initiative is underway.
